Cathryn Wellner’s search for 1001 reasons to be optimistic
Not really, it’s more of a “showing support” project than an education project, but being a good ally is always important! In fact, taking a picture with Allie is a great way to show your support as an ally or as a member of the LGBTQ community!
I think being an Ally really depends on who you are supporting and what they need from you. So just ask your friends how they feel you can support them. You can of course always come to us with more questions if you have them :D
You could also check out the website for GLSEN’s Ally week at http://www.allyweek.org. They have great resources like their FAQ and Ally pledge .
Hi!
I read about your project in the GLSEN national chapter organizer…BTW congratulations on being named GSA of the year!!! I loved Allie so much that I brought her with me to the WRPI 91.5 radio station on Sunday morning. One of our local board members, Dr Ray Werking, Jr, is an executive producer for a radio show that airs every Sunday from 10 to 2. Its called Homoradio and has been on the air for over 20 years! Anyway, we mentioned your wonderful project on the air and I took a picture of Allie with Dr Ray.
Unfortunately I can’t figure out how to get it into this message. :(
Best of luck and keep up the great work!
